Jason A. Atkinson

Jason A. Atkinson is a public servant, filmmaker, author, consultant and passionate outdoorsman. For over 14 years, Atkinson served in the Oregon Legislature, 12 years in the Senate and was a candidate for Governor. He took a sabbatical from public life to make the film A River Between Us, a documentary of the largest conservation project in American history, that was released in 2015. He writes on public land, conservation, fish and wildlife issues in various publications and in his most recent title Inside Out. He is a past founding trustee of the Crater Lake National Park Trust and sponsor of the Crater Lake License Plate Bill that created classroom at Crater Lake for Oregon school children in four counties. Field and Stream called him a Hero of Conservation in 2015.
