Inside Out is a collection stories—adventures, really—Jason gathered simply talking with friends throughout the great state of Oregon, candid conversations with people who feel largely left out of the conservation debate. However, the people in these pages share a deep love and connection to the land and all it represents: these are their voices.
Before taking a sabbatical from politics in 2012 in order to produce the film A River Between Us, Jason Atkinson served as a three-term Senator and Gubernatorial candidate from Oregon. He’s a Teddy Roosevelt-style Republican whose greatest conviction is that conservation is not political. Having traveled throughout the world, he understands how people often talk over each other, the importance of listening and the value of storytelling in mending fences.
